Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that you may have questions before changing your sharpening process

Question 1: Is the T-Rex difficult to set up or operate, and what chains can it handle?

The T-Rex is a professional automated sharpening system and does require an initial walkthrough to ensure correct setup and optimal results. We provide this training either online or through our authorised distributors, guiding operators through setup, adjustments, and best practices. Once configured, the T-Rex automates indexing and grinding to deliver consistent sharpening across 1/4", 3/8" (low profile and standard), 0.404", and **3/4" harvester chains, without ongoing reliance on specialist sharpening skills.

Question 2: Does the T-Rex sharpen hexa chains or square-ground chains?

No. The T-Rex is designed for precision sharpening of standard round-ground chains and does not sharpen hexa or square-ground chain profiles. It is engineered to deliver consistent, repeatable results for the most commonly used professional chain types, where accuracy, chain life, and efficiency are critical.

Question 3: Can you control the grind to prevent overheating or “bluing” the teeth?

Yes. The T-Rex allows fine control over how the grinding wheel engages with each tooth, making it easy to take light, precise cuts rather than aggressive passes. This level of control helps prevent overheating and bluing, extending chain life and maintaining proper tooth hardness. When used with our Cyclone grinding wheels, which are specifically designed to keep the tooth cool during sharpening, the result is an optimal, consistent grind.

Question 4: What after-sales support do you offer?

We provide structured after-sales support to ensure operators get the best performance from their T-Rex. This includes initial training and walkthroughs delivered online or through our authorised distributors, access to technical support for setup and operation questions, and ongoing assistance as your requirements evolve. Our focus is on helping you achieve consistent, reliable sharpening as part of your day-to-day operation.
